About Us

Massood Oroomchi and Alec Moore founded FinEx Group in 2004. FinEx Group provides cost effective solutions to Finance and Information Technology Challenges. FinEx Group has provided its services to a wide range of national and international companies in the resource, financial, manufacturing and high tech sectors. The firm’s client list includes both public and private companies.

MASSOOD OROOMCHI (FCA (UK), B.SC.)

Massod OroomchiMassood Oroomchi specializes in SOX/CSOX compliance requirements, corporate governance, disclosure and internal controls, complex accounting and shareholder reporting, business risk assessment and business process optimization. As a founding member of FinEx Group, his SOX/CSOX clients include a full range of public and private companies across all industries from the largest to some of the smallest organizations. Mr. Oroomchi chairs and speaks at numerous conferences, universities and professional institutions on corporate governance and SOX/CSOX compliance requirements.

As a finance executive with 30 years experience, Mr. Oroomchi has worked extensively in various senior finance positions in a cross section of industries. He has also worked in public practice in Canada, Europe and Middle East.

Mr. Oroomchi has led compliance and finance functions in the high technology industry in both growth and retrenchment environments. He has consistently delivered high quality compliance reporting and significant cost reductions through restructuring, centralization, office consolidations and outsourcing of non-core functions. He has also led the accounting function in one of the largest Canadian energy transportation companies through the largest expansion period in the company’s history where assets tripled to $9 billion through diverse acquisitions and complex financing transactions.

Mr. Oroomchi is a member of the Board of Directors, and Vice-President and Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee of Financial Executives International in Canada. He is the past-chair of the FEI Canada's National Technical Committee as well as the Committee on Corporate Reporting. He is also a past-member of the Accounting Standards Oversight Council of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in Canada. Mr. Oroomchi is a Fellow Chartered Accountant from England and has a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics.

ALEC MOORE (MA)

Alec MooreAlec Moore specializes in SOX/CSOX business compliance activities at both the entity and Information Technology levels. He also has extensive experience in business planning, business restructuring, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and human resources. As a finance executive with 25 years experience, Mr. Moore’s expertise includes optimizing business planning and other related business processes. This has enabled companies to reach the next level of growth efficiently and effectively as well as to rationalize cost structures. Incorporated in these business processes are entity and business unit strategic and operational planning, budgeting and forecasting, setting management accountabilities and performance metrics, using Information Technology as a business enabler as well as establishing processes for monitoring, analyzing and reducing ongoing risks to the business.

Mr. Moore has led a number of company acquisitions on a global scale. He developed and managed each detailed due diligence process to assess the business risks/rewards inherent in potential transactions and oversaw the development and execution of the post acquisition integration plans. He was also the lead in developing and executing restructuring plans on a global basis balancing respect for the employees and minimizing company exposure. He has considerable experience in outsourcing and single sourcing suppliers.

Mr. Moore also has leadership experience in human resources on a global scale. He has developed and implemented programs for internal communications, performance reviews, variable/sales compensation, option grants, training requirements, global benefits, employee handbooks, reward and recognition, as well as system requirements.

Mr. Moore has a Masters degree in Economics and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Kitchener-Waterloo United Way.
